VA membership system (VA affiliation system):

  1. Affiliate members have one basic duty for all, which is to always display a flag of Saint Mark in the place where they live and to carry any Saint Mark’ symbol with themselves when they travel (whether a flag or  badge or a pin or a scarf or a foulard)
  2. Members have privileges according to the amount of their donations.
  3. Memberships expire or are renewable annually and fees are decided and also reviewed by the co-directors’ panel every year.
  4. VA affiliate members are classified as following:
    1. Children of Saint Mark membership:  this is the basic affiliation membership. Current fee is 20€ per year. It provides free access to basic information services in all countries where VA foundation is represented, such as touristic advice, school and University advice, accommodation advice, travel advice, driving advice, visa advice, information on local regulations and customs, emergency information support in case of accidents, hospitalization, arrests or detentions. Information advice is provided by VA officers around the World who can be called or e-mailed at any time in case of emergencies or during office time (usually between 10.00 and 18.00 Monday to Friday) for general advice. Assistance for special and complex tasks (e.g. business consultations, assistance for cultural or business events, translations etc.) is subject to fees according to time and level of expertise required by VA officers or consultants or partners they may need to hire.

      Color: yellow/amaranth (as in Saint Mark’s Flag)

    2. Antonio Vivaldi membership of VA: this is given to those who donate to VA at least 50€ per year and on top of free access to basic information from our VA officers in the World, it allows for a 5% discount on any type of VA fee-based service (costs excluded), 5% discount on any type of publicity on VA website or social networks page.

      Color: pink

    3. Marco Polo  membership of VA:  this is given to those who donate to VA at least 100€ per year and on top of free access to basic information from our VA officers in the countries where we are represented, it allows for a 10% discount on any type of VA fee-based service (costs excluded), 10% discount on any type of publicity on VA website or social networks page.

      Color: orange

    4. Schiavoni membership of VA: this is given to those who donate to VA at least 500€ per year and on top of free access to basic information from our VA officers in the countries where we are represented, it allows for a 50% discount on any type of VA fee-based service (costs excluded), 50% discount on any type of publicity on VA website or social networks page.

      Color: yellow/blue (national colors)

      Note: those who choose this type of affiliation will also receive a little booklet on the history of “Schiavoni”, the prestigious Special Military Corp serving Serenissima Republic of Venice.

    5. Paolo Sarpi membership of VA: this is given to those who donate to VA at least 1000€ per year and on top of free access to basic information from our VA officers in the countries where we are represented, it allows for a 100% discount on any type of VA fee-based service (costs excluded), 100% discount on any type of publicity on VA website or social networks page.

      Color: black

    6. Note: those who choose this type of affiliation will also receive a little booklet on the history of Saint Mark’s cult, Venice and Serenissima Republic of Venice.

    7. Sebastiano Venier membership of VA: this is given to those who donate to VA at least 10000€ per year and on top of free access to basic information from our VA officers in the countries where we are represented, it allows for free access to any type of fee-based service (zero fee and no expectation to cover costs) and to on any type of publicity on VA website or social networks page. It also allows for automatic eligibility to become an executive co-director of VA (samurai).

      Color: gold

      Note: those who choose this type of affiliation will also receive a little booklet on the history of Saint Mark’s cult, Venice and Serenissima Republic of Venice.

      The joining of this type of affiliation will be celebrated in public at the presence of VA foundation’s co-directors (Saint Mark’s Samurai), unless the affiliates require privacy.

    Ethical note: the above classification has no hierarchical meaning but only carries the purpose of instilling into the affiliates a sense of belonging to Saint Mark’s and Venetian cultures, of encouraging them to approach and study the history of Saint Mark’s Serenissima Republic and Her People.  

  5. Discounts are always meant by excluding costs of service incurred by VA central administration or her VA officers around the World. Diamond members make exception in what any access to service is completely free. Members are always presented with quotes of costs of services before they decide to pay in to VA central account for the service required. Services agreed and then not performed for whatever reason will give a right of a full refund of the membership cost to whatever type of member and no more.
  6. All VA officer members, whether ambassadors, consuls, charge’ d’affairs diplomatic consultants, translators/interpreters cannot enjoy any of the above listed privileges at differential rates. If they want to benefit from a VA service, they must ALSO have a membership that allows them to benefit of the type of the privileges accorded for that membership.
  7. Equally-wise, the central director/co-directors and central administration staff members cannot enjoy any of the above listed privileges unless they ALSO have a membership that allows them to benefit of the type of the privileges accorded for that membership.
